Another bat group event for you, this time down in Oxford though! NBG has organized to join Wytham Bat Box check, in Oxford on Saturday 13th of July, were Dr. Danielle Linton will be leading the event. Many of you may have heard of Dr Linton who runs the Oxford Uni / WildCRU Wytham Bat

    Project: http://www.ox.ac.uk/content/discresearchbats
    https: www.facebook.com/Wytham-Bat-Project-601467463276369/

Dr. Linton has been leading extensive field research there into the social dynamics, survivability, roost movements, etc of the Natterer's, Daubenton's and brown long-eared bats using the Schwegler bird boxes in the woods, mainly via ringing. She has kindly offered us the opportunity to visit Wytham woods to learn about her project and help with the fieldwork. This is from 10am until 4pm on Saturday 13th July. This will involve checking the boxes with Danielle and helping to 'process' the bats, with the data recorded contributing to their extensive study.

There are no formal costs for the trip although there will be travel expenses and we hope to make a donation to the project. Travel will involve car sharing and a 7am start from Notts.

This event is open to members only. You must book on to attend the survey. Booking is now open – please be aware that places are limited. To book e-mail parker.john113@gmail.com Your place in this event is not confirmed until you receive a reply from us.
